Our Charitable purpose is the saving of lives
Our Charitable Objectives are:
- contribute to the preservation of life by delivering drowning prevention advice and related life saving education through participation in the Award schemes of the Royal Life Saving Society (hereinafter referred to as RLSS UK) as well as other qualifications relevant to the skills required and such other activities as appropriate.
- to promote the saving of lives by providing safety cover at open water events.
- offer appropriate assistance to government, charities and category 1 responders (as defined under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004), via mechanisms such as the membership of the Community Asset Register.
All profits are to be re-invested to further the aims of the group. All members are volunteers.
Open Water Rescue work in partnership with Scottish Swimming; providing safety cover and consultancy. Our Rescue volunteers serve the Greater Glasgow area, working in partnership with Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard, Local Government, NHS Scotland and Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
Open Water Rescue are members of and are affiliated to RLSS UK.
