Our voluntary Royal Life Saving Society Rescue units’ objectives are; to make waterways safer, carry out the search for missing persons, provide assistance at flooding incidents, provide safety cover at open water events, deliver drowning prevention education to the public by providing information and training in; lifesaving, life support, water safety, resuscitation and first aid, through participation in the Award schemes of the Royal Life Saving Society United Kingdom (RLSS UK).
All profits are to be re-invested to further the aims of the group. All members are volunteers.
Open Water Rescue work in partnership with Scottish Swimming; providing safety cover and consultancy. Our Rescue volunteers serve the Greater Glasgow area, working in partnership with Scottish Fire and Rescue, Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard, Local Government, NHS Scotland and Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
Open Water Rescue are members of and are affiliated to RLSS UK.
